There are many miles of gravel riding around the New Forest that are shared with pedestrians, dog walkers and horse riders.
We have found the best way to learn the trails is to join group rides which are usually run by local riders or bike shops. There’s also bike hire available across the New Forest with route maps included, which is ideal if you’re visiting the area without your bike (Why would you do that? 😆 ).
Also check out Facebook Groups Dorset Grit and Gravel and Hampshire Gravel Cyclists who also run regular group ride in the New Forest.
From there you start to learn which trails intersect and can therefore be linked together in different ways to build your own alternative routes to suit the distance and terrain that you prefer.
Also look for downloadable GPX files such as the one below which cam be found on bikepacking.com Here…
There are also these GPX files below giving you the choice of two loops around the New Forest to get you started.
